Prisoners to get voting rights ! 11th June 2012 5:09 PM
Well thankfully we are a civilised society then, I did read a statistic somewhere that 1 in 3 of the UK's male population has a criminal record because that would be a lot of one handed bods walking around, who no doubt would all end up on benefits. I'm quite happy for convicted people to be in chain gangs, but to start lopping off limbs and killing them via the legal system in the name of justice to me is quite sick. And speaking as someone who use to quite happily fill his pockets with sweets from the pic n mix at Woolworths on a Saturday morning I'm glad we don't have a chop chop square here, as I'd probably only have a head left as I was forever getting caught....

The only problem I see with choping peoples hands off, is that you make them pretty much useless to any future employer...

Unfortunately all newspaper and the main paper directories circulation figures have plummeted over the years, yet they still think they can charge either the same advertising fee or to increase it. Thats why papers such as the Sun etc have around 5 pages of nothing else but advertising. Sooner or later the newspaper as we know it, will have died probably once the next generation of pensioners have been cremated or buried....

Must admit I like the birds coming into the garden, have planted loads of plants over the years to attract butterflies & bees etc and having a dense tree area at the back of the garden helps. I don't use any bug repellents either so the garden ticks over organically. Problems only arise when I let the cats out..

Both men and women have in the past died fighting for the right to vote. And because you can vote you should vote, in my opinion if you don't make the effort to vote then you are never in a position or have the right to criticise those running the show.
As for prisoners voting, I cannot see what the problem is. By all means feed them bread and water, lock them up for 23hrs a day, hang the odd one every now and then let the state give them give them an apology/pardon 30years later. Let's not stop there, as it's the diamond jubilee let's bring back being hung, drawn and quartered...

I have a serious issue with bowing down to anyone (bad attitude the army called it) and it's never really gone away. On the plus side they do keep the tourists coming. 2013 cannot come quick enough for me, when we can get back to some sort of normality in London...
I tend to invest in shares for the longterm 5yrs plus, if I went into spread betting I feel I would end up chasing my loses, end up spending more time glued to the internet and getting little else done. Spread betting is really for gamblers who do little else but gamble and the only winner is the bookmaker...
