Any thoughts on the Budget? 20th March 2015 1:55 PM

Do you know what, I have no idea what the budget was about aside from a few headlines from the breakfast news.

Been having to do some proper work for once and have lost track of what's happening in the world

So in a nut shell, pre election budget, going to be aimed at winning votes, so anyone got any quick high lights or sound bites?

Just looked at legal stops article, didn't see any mention about small biz. Any thing worth worrying about or unexpected bonanza? Suspending corporation tax maybe?

Yodel buckles under pressure 20th March 2015 1:08 PM

Agree key issue is the people. Is nice though to show some courier drivers to go the extra mile:

All this negative publicity has to be music to the ears of a newly privatised Royal Mail?

So this is what people were expecting to see...

and this was the expected Twitter reaction....

Did anyone see anything?

I actually slept through it after working late last night, guess I'll have to wait another 10 years

Dolce and Gabbana and Elton John are having a very public spat after D&G referred to IVF as synthetic children among other things, which Elton John retaliated with a boyocott D&G hash tag.

As usual, you can rely on twitter users to be in fine fettle

Yodel buckles under pressure 16th March 2015 9:25 PM

Another spike in the couriers calendar and Yodel is in the headlines again as a small number of Mothers day deliveries don't turn up:

"It's not the quality of service which you have a right to expect from M&S.

"Something has gone wrong at this time, and for this we sincerely apologise. You will receive your order today if you have not done so already."

Some affected customers have had their purchases refunded and received a £15 voucher.

Marks and Spencer uses Yodel to deliver only orders of flowers, it said, and has "no current plans to change [courier]".

Yodel says flower suppliers caused Mother's Day delivery delays - BBC News

Didn't realise Yodel were the second largest courier in the UK, assume Royal Mail must be number 1?

Wonder if there is any chance of Yodel turning a profit or are they playing the Amazon long game?

So it looks like Clarkson is now going to jump ship before he jumps, but interesting piece in the mirror about the producer who is at the centre of the row.

It seems he is hiding from death threats, has no axe to grind and simply wants to go back to work. Death threats! It's just a TV show, what on earth is wrong with some of the nut jobs in this country?

According to the Mirror

A source said: “He is a guy who is not interested in the limelight.

“He is mortified by the whole thing and the thing he is most concerned about is losing his job, which is really important to him.”

Oisin, of West London, is said to be a popular and professional member of the Top Gear team and masterminded the recent show in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

He has hired top employment lawyer Paul Daniels to put his case to an independent inquiry, which BBC Scotland head Ken MacQuarrie.

Maybe an unfortunate choice of lawyer, thought Paul Daniels had been quiet for a while..

Always wondered what they were for? Always looked very impressive seeing a fog rolling over the carrots, but did wonder if was just a gimmick.

I wonder what happened to the mccafe?”

It seems mccafe is about to get a big boost!

McDonald’s readies biggest investment in McCafé - marketing week

The company is to launch “McCafé moments”, a partnership with Channel 4 that it hopes will establish it as a destination for premium beverages.

The ten-month collaboration will see 40 pieces of content aired that showcase a series of conversations between “real people” drinking McCafé beverages. The Gogglebox inspired clips will see them talking about what’s happening on their favourite Channel 4 programs, such as Location, Location, Location or Made in Chelsea.

Love him or loathe him, the re-instate Jeremy Clarkson petition has topped 400,000 signatures in 24 hours!

After news of his suspension on Tuesday after a "fracas" with a Top Gear producer, Clarkson has been quipping on social media about replacements for Sundays Top Gear which has been dropped:

He comes over as arrogant and probably a prima donna behind the scenes, but that's his style and it's what has turned Top Gear into the show it is today.

Interesting stuff, is a star and show from one of their best earners bigger than the BBC? Wonder who will back down?

At least it removed some politics form the news

Have to mention a local company who have really impressed me. Yorke Electrical Installations Ltd.

Have used them a couple of times in the past and would already strongly recommend, but this weekend popped they round just to give us some advice about the best way to get our long suffering internet connection and ropey wireless around the house.

They managed to convince me that electric/data socket adapters were no longer rubbish as they were 10 years ago, and put me off having the house hard wired. Instead gave me a brand they recommend and knew to work well, and I could pick up from the local Maplins. Now up and running and gobsmacked how well they work.

Another firm would have just taken my request at face value and quoted for the work. So a big thanks to Conrad the MD and his right hand man whose name I can't remember

If you need any Electrical work doing round the Stratford/Warks area, you can't go far wrong!
