robot parks cars in Birmingham 30th September 2010 10:47 AM
Lets hope this is more successful then the valetauto parking they tried in the 60's.

When they redeveloped the bullring in circa 1960 they had a 500 space valet car park, the attendant would give you a ticket load your car onto a trolley and it would then get loaded into the lift and parked in an appropriate space, unfortunately the trolley and the lifts broke down frequently and if they did work there were cases of people waiting up to 4hrs to retrieve there cars.

They scrapped it after about 6 months and closed the car park down a few years lated they tore out all the mechanisms and turned it into a normal self service car park.
I get the tech behind it
bot reads the field
writes to it and gets dropped

but what if you have a high volume site so mr human spam person logs on compares the bot logs against his own eyes and clocks the lack of any field???
surely they can then just let the bot spam away omitting the field.

Hmm I will have to have a research on this one.
you want it set to cam. which is constantly awake mode = no power saving.
If you have no transit power then it is cranked up to the max.

I don't suppose you have the same lappy's then you could do a HD swap and rule out your software config.
My vote has been cast and I think it is a great idea.

I would rather look an a easy to read picture with some text on it then those stupid squiggly lines and deformed text.

I am not fussed about what it is as long as it works.

Just got this emailed to me and found it of use so I thought I would share it out.

I have worked from my home for over 4 years now, and unlike some people, I find it incredibly easy. However, I frequently get asked by people new to self-employment, or by my employed friends who have the opportunity to work from home occasionally, how I do it. So, I decided to give it some thought. If you are struggling to adjust to working from home, maybe following my recipe for success will help

I have got boxers older then him.
as it is a new laptop I am assuming that it is running windows 7.

sounds to me like you have your wireless card in power saving mode.
to check
  1. open up network sharing centre > change adapter settings
  2. right click your wireless card > click properties > click configure > advanced
  3. find power saving mode and disable it.
  4. find transmit power and crank it up to 100%
  5. click power management > uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
  6. Click > OK and give a whirl.
I read about this the other day.
seems like a good idea to me as long as they dont spam you.
