Drink free beer while working! 13th April 2010 1:32 PM
I used to work for a Belgian owned company and we used to get shipped out to Ghent on projects. They had a free bar in the canteen the locals used to get there food and a pint and read the paper.

The brits as you have probably already guessed used to get trollied for the 1st week there and once they realised it was there all the time and free it wore off.

hoegaarden used to be the tipple of choice if I recall.

Ghent is one of the oddest places on earth if you ever get the opportunity to go you should visit the Bicycle Bar "t'Velootje" it has bicycles hanging everywhere. I dont know if they still do it but if you ordered a half yard they would take a shoe as a deposit. so everyone in the pub is standing about on the slant.

The last pc I had to rebuild started with 13 viruses I neuked a load and they kept multiplying at the end there were 18 viruses.

I plugged it into my test rig and my symantec AV picked up the viruses and neuked them all as they tried to spread.

I decided that the machine was too badly infected to try and recover any data and scratched and rebuilt it.

The coders are getting smarter and smarter on the virus front. I had a pc with an smtp spam virus recently and everytime the av fired up it went stealth I had to scratch the machine in the end as it just kept reinfecting itself.
short and sweet I liked what he had to say.
He is ramping up his pension pot he recently anounced he was going to switch Myspace to a subscription based model.

I read this and thought it was nice to hear something good business news for a change.

There is no doubt that the recent recession has been a painful time for most businesses - but some have managed to come out on top.

Despite the recession these women managed to keep trade ticking over

That's certainly true for the following quartet, especially as up to 120 small firms were going bust a day at the height of the the financial crisis, according to accountants BDO.

Hi Guys
just a note reminding people to update there AV to the latest version and never open any attachments that may be conisder as humour or anything that is not business related.

The reason for this post is due to my end user experiencing heavy virus attacks atm. in 14yrs i have never known it so bad. it has cost my customers literally tens of thousands in lost revenue in down time due to being lack lustre over the software defense.
