What does your average PPC cost?

For us if we want PPC, and say the keywords "IT Support London", it's roughly

We have paid listing. As I said before, I am not doing it in the hope that we get business from them. If it helps in our overall ranking then it's been worth it.

If it gets us one or two leads then it's a bonus. People find us through seach engines. Nearly always.

Too early to tell.

My view on these sites are a bit different. I use them for links. That's why I pay them. If I get business through their site it's a bonus. But most people will find us through natural search, so they will type something like "computer maintenance london" or "london computer service", (this is not a plug). or something along those lines. So, as long as they can give me high pr or quality links, then I am willing to pay within reason.

In my experience these companies often have so much small print. It depends on how much tiem you have to dedicate to get out of it, how you value your time. If there is an easy way, then do it, as that's what it seems you want to do.

Thanks. Very useful. I did a quick check. We rank higher on Bing than on Google. Our main site used to rank highest on Yahoo. Now we seemed to have lowest ranking on Yahoo.

On some Google and Bing, come Page 1 for 2 important keywords. But on Yahoo, on several pages later.

As far as I am concerned it creates another layer of complication.

My viewpoint has changed. I don't mind paying for directory listing so long as it's a quality directory and it's a reasonable price. Yahoo and friends charge a hell of a lot. To make it worse it's an annual price.

The main reason for us listing is for the link value. That's it.

I would have to agree with steve PPC is pretty instant. Anything else including seo takes time.

I seem to be a bit out of touch with the latest music. Currently re-listening to Placebo and Bush. I discovered Tiken Jah Fakoley about 6 months ago by accident. I think he is Haiten or something. Sings Ragae in French. Can't understand most of it, but sure sounds good.
