For the last 5 years i'd worked in Fareham Shopping Centre and HMV would come in from October to February as a Christmas Shop.

Rumour has it they'd come in rent free as they supposedly brought customers to the Centre...i must've missed them

Anyway, last October they didn't bother coming in, Shopping Centres really are a struggle for everyone at the moment.

Anyone listed their site on, or even look on, Scoot?

I don't know if they're old or new but I'm not getting anywhere at the moment listing my site on free web directories (my website has been published for about 6 weeks) so am starting to think that paid may be worth it.

AdWords told me when I called them today that £300.00 a month generates about 20 clicks a day which didn't sound too good to me if the aaverage click-to-purchase conversion is between 1%-3%...so I'm told.

I also don't know if in the modern world any consumer actually goes on business listings to look for what I do anyway, I'm sure most people would just go onto Google, type in 'retro t.shirts' and look at the top couple of sites.

Are business listings actually a help at all?

Any thoughts?

Hi guys, apologies if a thread already exists...

My retail website has been online for about 6 weeks and the only traffic I seem to have is from people I've told about it ie friends and family!

I've just spoken to Google and they suggested running an adword campaign at £10.00 per day for 10 days as a trial, this will in turn apparently get me listed on the first page and 25 visitors a day.

It may not sound a lot but when you are selling nothing a £100.00 'trial' is a heck of a lot of money.

Have any of you guys tried this, any feedback?
