Becoming a Non Smoker 11th February 2014 11:15 AM
Hi Ray

Just wanted to congratulate you on your amazing feat! Been there myself so know how hard it is - ahem i have been smoke free now for 16 years

Wow
Seems strange to me that Google can retrospectively ban a practice it once deemed acceptable ....

That being said wasnt smoking deemed acceptable by the masses not so long ago.......? Now soon you wont even be able to light up in your car with kids in it.

How times change.
Should killers get whole life tariffs? 11th February 2014 11:02 AM
How many would have attacked the actors from coronation street "before" the not guilty verdict? How many still believed they are guilty and should get a kicking anyway?

Did you know that almost 20,000 prisoners are simply on remand and have not been convicted of anything...they are waiting for a trial. How would you feel if you were innocent. I met a man who did 17 years for a crime he did not commit, a man who was fortunate that we don't use the death penalty any more.

Justice is not a simple commodity that can be dispensed in a perfect way. Our system remains adversarial in nature, the media "demand" justice when in realty they simply want a worthy news story that drives a thirst for revenge.

Just a thought.

Totally agree - nobodys name should be allowed to be published or leaked on Twitter etc unless they are found guilty. Too many "celebrities" careers have been wrecked by malicious allegations, and no im not talking about recent(ish) events.

Again I totally agree that people on remand should get a fair hearing and it shouldnt take years to bring their case to Trial.

Our Justice system needs a drastic overhaul, independent of European bureaucrats !
TESCO Every little helps 30th January 2014 12:20 PM
Hmm reminds me of a time I actually got escorted out of my local Tescos for complaining too loudly. The assistant manager couldn't handle my complaint so walked over to the security guards, I stupidly followed only to be politely asked to leave the store by 2 very large security guards !!!

A massive debate ensued between head office & me ending up with a dozen bottles of wine being sent to me!

Dont do Tescos unless I really really have to, even then I drive 10 miles to another store!

With news just breaking that Lee Rigbys murderers are appealing their sentence already, should such killers be allowed to appeal?

Gets me hopping mad that we are dictated to by Europe that we cannot impose life long sentences with no hope of parole due to Human Rights!

What human right did these killers show to that poor soldier - none! If you take a human life then expect to lose all of your lifes privileges, including a nice cell with a play station & tv!!!!

Bring back the death penalty, at the very least hard labour until they either expire due to overwork or if they cant work anymore then exterminate the scum - why should my taxes be spent keeping these people alive?

January wettest on record! 30th January 2014 11:35 AM
Well, I dont know about you but i've just about had enough of this rain, with January now officially the wettest on record!
...it is warning of more rain, as well as snow and high winds, for much of the UK in the coming days.

In Somerset, the military is preparing to help flooded areas.

Up to and including January 28, the South East and central southern England had 175.2mm (6.9in) of rainfall in January - beating the previous record of 158.2mm for the same parts of England set in 1988.

BBC News - UK floods: January rain breaks records in parts of England

But has this been good or bad for business?

Guessing if you have an online "shop" business could be booming as people shy away from the shops and spend more time huddled around laptops/ipads etc.

Or if you are more out door business, how have you found the travelling - have you been disrupted?
What is your addiction? 20th January 2014 10:19 AM

Know any local Charities? 24th September 2013 10:19 AM
Hey Kev

Good to hear you have bounced back mate

If you are serious about donating time to a good cause you may be better off approaching them but as you may recall when trying to give something away isnt always easy

Im a Governor at a local school in Redditch, they are always on about their website but as usual no budget can be spared on it. Not a charity but if you could spare an hour or 2 to help sure it would be appreciated
