Bad review couple win compensation 30th June 2014 10:46 AM

To be fair yes it did. In bits again, but with a bit of glue its all together, just annoying i'm the one repairing it. They still had the cheek to email me asking to remove the negative comments - oh i think not !!

Its worth mentioning that you cannot change or amend an Amazon review, once its live its live and you either leave it or delete it - not the best system - something i did inform them of lol.

Its a cheap product that will serve a purpose and i'm wiser to to buying off Amazon companies that cleverly hide their real address with a UK "customer service" centre address.

Good luck in your quest Trena

Not had a full on rant for a while, must be getting soft lol

But just as i was scanning the news earlier this caught my eye and my blood pressure went sky high.

Appears 2 prisoners have scaled up to a roof top, the report doesnt state if it was in protest or if they were just sunning themselves, anyway they were offered suncream by the staff !!!

"The MoJ said sun cream was offered as part of a duty of care but declined by the prisoners."

Brilliant quote form John Hancock of the Prison Officers Association -

"It's only going to encourage other inmates to get on the roofs and expect sun cream, and possibly cold drinks and ice creams as well "

We really have turned in to a Nation of do gooders and cant say or do anything for fear of some kind of litigious action - madness - absolute madness !!

Wonga sharks - using fake lawyers! 27th June 2014 10:04 AM
I would have thought something like this would warrant a criminal charge of some sort.....”

Would it be more unethical than criminal?

Either way the spot light is most definitely on all companies that feed off the vulnerable and needy and the whole money lending fraternity need proper regulating.

Guessing anyone can lend money and set their own interest rates, bit of alleged regulation and away you go . Now the Kray twins had it cracked.....

Oh Jan - you made me chuckle !!!!

Waiting with interest to see next weeks installment to see how the date went!

(Just bear in mind we are family friendly  )

Now now Trena, Victor is fearing he may lose his crown!

Seems like you have a water tight case to be honest but we only have the snippet above to go on, but i wish you every success in your claim.

I too have been doing battle recently with Amazon, well to be fair a company i bought a product from via them. Amazon to be honest have been great.

I had a product delivered, arrived in broken bits in the box, stated waterproof on the web advert, on the box it said protect from weather - so i left a review to this effect, oh and they use a UK address for customer service but actually its a Chinese company - very cleverly disguised!

Received an email back stating they would send a replacement, without the need to return first item IF i removed the negative review - (oh dear they were doing so well!)

Quick email to Amazon to report said threat and product due to arrive today, hmm we will see if it does....

Reading this article and it beggars belief that it got this far.

Looks like a couple tried to buy some goods from an online firm, that never arrived.

A lengthy spat ensued between the company and the couple, with the company threatening to "fine" the couple for leaving negative comments online about them. The company then tried to enforce the fine via a debt collection agency !!!( Madness )

The company, KlearGear have now been ordered to pay the couple a total of £180,000 - presume that includes a payment for solicitors costs too

When reality & lack of business sense collide hey?

Just read they have only started actually removing info as of today and have got quite a backlog to work through on a "case by case basis"

My 2 pennies, i think that if you have done nothing wrong or possibly found not guilty of something then this most certainly needs deleting. If you are guilty as charged tough !

But then you come across rehabilitation laws that states your slate is wiped clean after x many years, so should Google be forced to follow suit.

Can see this going round and round in circles, with the one with the deepest pockets and the best Lawyers coming out on top !

There has been much in the press lately about children being over weight. Today i saw a headline - water only as a mealtime drink!

Seems that they are blaming sugary drinks as the cause to being over weight in kids.

No mention about the lack of exercise, playing for hours on x-box type consoles for hours on end rather than playing outside.

As a young teen, computers had only really started coming in to main stream, we had 1 Atari console between myself and 2 brothers and that really was only on when my parents weren't watching the 1 TV in the house.

Nowadays - i have 3 TVs in my house, 3 games consoles (ok a bit extreme) and dozens of games for them. I restrict the amount of time my kids play on them, and their weight is fine. They eat chocolate, drink fizzy pop & squash, all in moderation and with a healthy diet.

Stop blaming products for over weight children and start looking at the parents - moderate the intake of unhealthy foods, restrict access to electric or online games and push them outside in to the fresh air !

On a serious point, it actually is something we may have to consider, unless technically we are still the UK, just lost a bit?

Polls still suggests though that they will vote no, making all this irrelevant

I'm off to buy bread & eggs
