Grant Whiskey ditches traditional product led marketing 26th September 2014 3:14 PM I have not got a clue what they are playing at with this advert - all but the last 5 seconds there is no product placement or mention. I dont think this would inspire me to drink this if i wasnt already a fan (which i am) Am i just getting old and missing the point? Is this a sign of advertising to come and i just dont get it? #confused Crime - Victims and their Perpetrators 26th September 2014 11:59 AM With the recent news of DLT being given a suspended sentence for an alleged assault years ago (personally, i am pleased he wasnt sent down) yet again the victim gets the right to retain her anonymity ! There are no Rights for the accused - think we have debated this before but the Law has to protect both the alleged victim but also the ALLEGED perpetrator! How can anyone get a fair trial if the Jury are fed media hype before the hearing? I am all for publishing the details after the Court case but no details should be printed before or during the hearing, its only fair.
Tesco shares price drops 26th September 2014 10:38 AM I dont understand the logic behind this Surely the moment they opened the store they would be making money? I hope another supermarket takes over the building and locks Tescos out of the Town - they dont deserve the local peoples custom! Free School Meals 25th September 2014 12:34 PM
“Surely, if you have children, it is your responsibility to feed them.”
Thats the point that the Government is trying to make (least i think it is) Its a sad fact that many children are sent to school with inadequate food provisions, so the free meals for all scheme was dreamt up. As a responsible parent, my youngest (now 13) takes sandwiches but he gets a home cooked meal in the evening either at his mums house or mine - but there are many kids out there that will not get a hot meal tonight for many reasons, hence the school dinners are vital! Free School Meals 25th September 2014 10:21 AM Just a tad
![]() ![]() I get your frustration though, think we do have a thread about benefit culture somewhere ... This benefit claiming culture has to change to free up more money to invest in the schools.
Before the PC brigade cart me off, i accept there are lots of people on benefits that would much rather work, but there are also too many freeloaders watching that annoying JK getting rich on tax payers hard earned cash!

“I don't think it's fair that it's limited to 7 years of age.
There are plenty of kids, in the same school, up to the age of 10, whose Parents are just as 'poor' as the parents of 7 year old's Agree with you, but then who pays for the extra intake? Government is already stretched beyond its capacity and the benefit system needs a dramatic overhaul. Maybe once all the schools are up to speed and every child is getting the meal they have been promised the age could/will be increased. I have a Governors meeting at a local school next week, part of that is being appraised of their new meal facility. Be interesting to hear how its taken off - will report back if i remember. Lancaster Dambusters Tribute 24th September 2014 11:26 AM it is indeed an incredible photo - looks more like a painting. Wonderful scenic shot Marketing fail or marketing genius? You decide! 22nd September 2014 2:33 PM Really though? Ok their name is out there but linked to a catastrophic error - is that good marketing? They wouldn't be getting my business if i was looking in their market area. When is your business no longer yours? 22nd September 2014 2:31 PM
“I think we are straying into the area of reverse discrimination and Nanny state, here.
![]() Yep, kinda strayed off piste so to speak Back to the OP - still think its wrong that as a company you cannot decide what customer you can & cannot serve without someone claiming, sex, race or some other form of discrimination. We really are too afraid to stand up for our morals or beliefs for fear of upsetting someone else - its pathetic |
