Clive - the business card idea sounds like a good one... might have to borrow that

I think I will go along and see what it is all about and whether it can benefit us in any way. I think convincing my sales guys will be another matter... the 7am attendance might be a bit of a stumbling block

Hey no worries - for stealing our idea im sure we can think of some sort of compensation package lol

Another idea im happy to share is a competetion as to who can get the most business cards at a meeting, that way you know they are talking to people, the very least you now have a point of contact for a potential customer

Hmm im a bit mixed on these.

I have been to a fair few of these, initially you see some new faces but as you go to more & more the same faces start cropping up.

To be honest everyone is there to sell their product/service & pay little or no attention to you untill they have had their sales pitch listened to.

We came up with a new idea of simply presenting a business card with our promo offer on the back of it.

I think for a few visits & a bacon butty its ok but didnt see a long term gain for our type of business

Hope this helps

Im just reading the news with a coffee, kick start the morning.

I was in a good mood (yes just this once!) until i read this article - BBC News - Newcastle woman in
Maybe we take it further and make private pensions compulsory for certain salary thresholds, contracting out and reducing the responsibility and burden on the state?

I actually contracted out of the State Pension 20 years ago, still not sure what that means - it sounded good as a wet behind the ears insurance broker - really must look in to that and speak to someone - will this be affected by the news?

So basically, there will be a 6 month review, a bunch of old cronies locked away in room somewhere in Westminister, supping cheap beers and smoking at the bar, and at the end of it, they'll agree that we'll all have to work till 70

Dear oh dear Steve thought i was synical
just search 25th June 2010 8:47 AM
hi all
were just about to spend 6 grand with just search, but seems to be lots of bad press abut them . any comments

Hi

Im by no way a SEO expert but i have literally just Googled the name and found a few negative comments that would set my alarm bells ringing. Thats a huge chunk of money to gamble away if you are unsure of the results.

Go with your gut instinct - if you dont feel happy using them dont sign the contract.

One possible way forward if you still do want to use them would be to see if they will do a 3 month contract - try then out - if you are happy with the results then go ahead and keep on investing, if you arent happy you can walk away - its a tactic we frequently use. To be fair if the company has a problem doing that we rarely proceed.

Hope this helps
