When your home is your office 24th April 2012 10:33 AM
I have to admit i hated working from home.

When Steve invited me to come onboard with him i initially started working from "home" which was a tiny flat just off the M5 in Oldbury as at that time i was going through a divorce - so maybe my mindset wasnt the best but i remember not leaving this tiny space for 3 days once & felt like i was going mad!!

When i moved back closer to my kids & rented a house for a bit i again worked in the back bedroom & didnt get on with that either - felt very isolated (i was used to working in an office with 20+ people) and my only contact with Steve was a weekly visit to him.

Then we got the office in Henley in Arden - bliss ! & since the move to the new office things are great - its just far enough away to have a nice drive in the morning to wake up & a not too bad drive home to de-stress in the evening

The Apprentice - UK Sitcom :) 21st March 2012 12:41 PM
Think its lost its appeal to some extent although reading the news just now over lunch and there are some cringe worthy quotes on the way like "im an animal i wll roar my way to the top" , also found this story - Shop worker berates girl candidates - News | MSN TV UK

Seems the girls have pee'd off a potential customer - im sure Lord Sugar will have something to say about that.

Favourite quote to date from the programme has to be - " im not a one trick pony - im a field of ponies"
Game Group on verge of Collapse 20th March 2012 10:41 AM
What a shame

I have been in Game recently and although filled with "kids" they are wizards at what they do - they play games & then use this knowledge to pass on to the "oldies" like me. Staff are really helpful in both of my local stores.

Yes perhaps you can save a few pounds by going to amazon or play but you cant ask them how to set up for optimized performance or if they know how to play split screen players, or ask an opinion on best games for the teenage sons.

Bad & sad times - hope they can pull through - sure gona miss 'um if they do go down.

Also Steve will have to start thinking about new ideas for for Christmas as he used to buy my boys a Game Voucher!

Cold Callers in Warmer Climates 1st March 2012 10:55 PM
I detest cold callers- have taken months, nay years TPSing, MPSing my details - frustrating thing is market research - it doesnt come under TPS law - about blinking time it did.

My personal favourite now is to ask for a fee for them to speak to me ( i stole this idea from one of my old bosses)

Them - hi im xxx from xxx company
Me- thats nice
Them - id like to ask you a few questions about xxxx
Me - okay - my fee is
