This newish initiative looks open to abuse and I wonder how long it can last or how important it will be.

I can see offers on Fiverr to use multiple-accounts to +1 your site.

Is it worth pursuing?

I was injured (but not at work).

My understanding is that link quality is a weighting factor in Google rankings.

I get the idea of too many links too quickly can cause problems e.g. the sandbox or worse.

If steady link building goes on with spammy comments/posts might there be a day when Google recognises the quality of the comments /forum posts and penalises the web page/web site ranking?

Looking at a counter argument this might open up the prospect doing spammy stuff in the name of your competitors to bring them down.

Just can't believe some of the unadulterated corny rubbishy s*1t that Xrumer et al posts as comments on my sites.

I use a few forums.

What makes me go back beyond the initial period of initiation is the people and information on it. If I have a choice of going to a couple for 10 minutes or so I will, without really thinking about it, go to the ones I enjoy being on and reading.

I think this one has a nice mix of education and general interests plus some nice peeps who aren't overloaded by ego.

I do some and they get me site visits and sometimes rank highly in search results. I think the big boys like Ezine are still woth the effort but I aim to put one different link each time in the author box.

I wonder how much the freshh content element is to be persued. One one hand having Twitter feeds etc does do that, but surely that is too simple and does not add much value really.
