I always wonder when I see this type of post on a forum why people don't use the post to tell us about what it is they are marketing

Soundmagic what you should of posted is:

Hi we are ............ one of south london's finest rehearsal and recording studio complexes since 1989. Based in the musically vibrant ......., we are open 7 days a week and offer 5 well equipped air-conditioned rehearsal studios, and a recording studio capable of 24 track live recording with 3 separate live rooms. Our client base includes touring professional rock / pop bands and artists, some of the worlds largest record labels, as well as a vast array of local musicans covering most genres.

Thanks for reading we would also be interested in hearing from forum members here how we can market ourselves etc.

The above tells me about you whilst still asking your original question.

if it were only true we are a small studio with only 3 reheasal rooms and a recording room we dont make any money out of this at the moment but we keep the local bands with a place to go sorry if this upsets your way of thinking but we hope to improve with the help of some possitive input just like the england team hope it works for them ?

Good morning, soundmagic.

Good luck with your marketing. I hope you have more success than the England team!

I really do not think you upset Tomsk's way of thinking, he was just trying to get you to give us the information needed to give you marketing advice, there are 101 different types of studio, 101 different types of marketing.

Not using the correct marketing is what causes ineffective marketing, so the more we know the more we could have helped.

Humble pie time buddy

Holy moly, dont use our National Sunday pubside for inspiration!!

On a serious note though, Tomsk is spot on. You may be smaller than your competitors, but you are providing a service, so big yourself up, don't run yourself down!

A website is going to be a key marketing tool for you, providing low cost publicity if done right, as well as giving any prospective bands information about your services.

Couple that into a "gig guide" for your local bands, you could end up with a very popular niche site, which provides a genuine information portal, which off the back of that you advertise your studio. All of this could be done organically, via keyword marketing, decent content will invite lots of people linking to you, add in a decent facebook page and a twitter stream and we have then next Stock Aitken and Waterman

There are a whole host of marketing ideas you can utilise, from traditional fly posting, guerilla tactics, a lot of it will be down to your experience and any potiential budget.

But I think a starter for 10 should get an online buzz going via your site. This can be very low monetary cost although will need lots of time and passion.
