The North Yorkshire Moors is a paradise for walkers and cyclists with more than 1,300 miles of footpaths to choose from. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway offers a more sedate way to appreciate the stunning scenery of the moors and visits lovely villages such as Goathland and Grosmont which featured in the Heartbeart television series as well as Whitby with its pretty harbour. There are a number of fine beaches along the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast to enjoy while Scarborough is within reach for a day trip
