Lambert Heating & Renewables Ltd
Lambert Heating & Renewables Ltd is an independent heating business based in Carshalton, serving Sutton and surrounding areas.
The business is run by Terry Lambert, a heating engineer with 35 years of industry experience, including British Gas training, cross-brand boiler breakdown work, manufacturer training and advanced fault-finding experience.
Lambert Heating & Renewables focuses on boiler servicing, boiler repairs, heating diagnostics, new boiler installation, heating controls, system upgrades, low-temperature heating and heat pumps.
The aim is not simply to attend, replace a part and leave. Where a fault exists, the objective is to understand what has failed, why it has failed and whether the underlying cause sits within the boiler or elsewhere in the heating system.
BOILER SERVICING
Lambert Heating & Renewables carries out annual boiler servicing in Carshalton and surrounding areas.
A boiler service should do more than satisfy an annual reminder. It is an opportunity to assess appliance condition, combustion and safety where relevant, controls, operating behaviour, system condition and developing faults before they become larger problems.
Terry services and works on boilers from manufacturers including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Viessmann, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm and Intergas.
Manufacturer knowledge matters because boilers are not all designed, controlled or serviced in the same way. Terry is Worcester Bosch manufacturer trained, a Vaillant Advance Installer and a Viessmann Accredited Installer, with additional manufacturer training and repair experience across other major boiler brands.
These manufacturer relationships can also provide access to technical support, parts information and manufacturer parts channels where appropriate, helping Lambert Heating & Renewables prepare properly for servicing and repair work.
Every qualifying boiler service can include 12 months of Lambert Boiler Service Plan membership at no extra cost.
The Boiler Service Plan provides ongoing care after the visit, including annual service reminders, continuity of service history and access to phone, text, email, WhatsApp and video support where appropriate.
There is no subscription, no automatic payment and no long-term obligation.
BOILER REPAIRS AND FAULT FINDING
Lambert Heating & Renewables carries out boiler repairs and heating diagnostics across Carshalton, Sutton and surrounding areas.
Terry’s repair background includes decades of practical fault finding, British Gas training, cross-brand breakdown work and manufacturer-specific fault-finding and repair training.
The diagnostic approach is evidence-led.
A fault code is useful, but it is not always the diagnosis.
A failed component may be the cause of a problem, or it may be the result of another fault elsewhere in the system. A boiler can also shut down or protect itself because of controls, circulation, water quality, pumps, valves, sensors or hydraulic conditions outside the appliance.
Wherever possible, the fault is tested and proved before parts are replaced.
Repair enquiries are triaged before attendance. Boiler make, model, fault code, symptoms and system behaviour are discussed where useful. This allows likely causes to be considered before Terry arrives.
Likely parts can then be taken specifically to the job, alongside a working stock of commonly required boiler and heating parts carried on the van.
The purpose of this preparation is simple: give every suitable repair the best possible chance of being diagnosed and completed on the first visit.
Not every fault can be repaired immediately. Some require specialist parts, further testing or manufacturer involvement. But the visit starts with preparation rather than beginning the diagnostic process from zero at the customer’s front door.
Standard diagnostic attendance is £95 + VAT.
Straightforward faults corrected during the diagnostic visit may be resolved within that diagnostic charge. More involved repairs are explained and agreed before work proceeds. If parts need ordering or a return visit is required, a separate repair quotation is provided.
Parts supplied and fitted by Lambert Heating & Renewables, together with the labour associated with that repair, are warranted for 12 months. The warranty applies to the repair carried out rather than unrelated or subsequent faults elsewhere in the appliance or heating system.
HEATING CONTROLS AND SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS
Boiler faults do not always begin with the boiler.
Lambert Heating & Renewables also diagnoses heating controls, wiring, motorised valves, thermostats, programmers, sensors, circulation problems and system-side faults.
Terry’s controls background includes Honeywell Pro Advanced training together with Danfoss, Drayton and Nest controls training, plus extensive practical experience of traditional and modern heating-control systems.
This matters because control faults can present themselves as appliance faults.
A boiler may have power, gas and water available but still fail to operate correctly because the demand signal, zoning, motorised valve, sensor, wiring or control strategy is wrong.
The whole system is considered where the symptoms require it.
SYSTEM HYDRAULICS, BALANCING AND WATER CONDITION
A heating system is not simply a boiler connected to radiators.
Flow, pressure loss, pump performance, circulation, differential pressure, emitter sizing, balancing and water condition all affect how the system performs.
Terry has undertaken training in system design, pumps, controls and balancing, including Wilo pump training, IMI controls and balancing training and Heat Geek low-temperature heating education.
Lambert Heating & Renewables also carries out heating-system water testing where deeper investigation is required.
Specialist training in heating-system water quality has included the science behind system water, advanced testing and interpretation of results.
Professional water analysis can assess parameters including pH, conductivity, hardness, inhibitor-related chemistry, iron, copper, aluminium, chloride, suspended solids and other indicators of system condition.
Water quality can contribute to blocked heat exchangers, restricted circulation, corrosion, component failure and poor heating performance.
NEW BOILERS AND HEATING SYSTEM DESIGN
Lambert Heating & Renewables installs replacement boilers and heating-system upgrades.
A boiler replacement should not begin with the assumption that the new appliance is simply the same size as the old one.
Boiler sizing, controls, radiator output, system flow, circulation, water condition and operating temperature all affect the finished result.
Terry’s background in system design, low-temperature heating, controls, balancing, water quality and manufacturer-specific boiler knowledge allows replacement work to be approached as a heating-system project rather than simply an appliance swap.
Where appropriate, weather compensation, load compensation, lower flow temperatures and system optimisation can be considered as part of the design.
HEAT PUMPS AND LOW-TEMPERATURE HEATING
Lambert Heating & Renewables also works with heat pumps and low-temperature heating systems.
Terry is Heat Geek Elite and has practical experience with heat-pump design, installation, commissioning, servicing, controls, underfloor heating and low-temperature emitters.
Heat-pump performance depends on the whole heating system.
Heat loss, emitter output, flow temperature, weather compensation, controls, system volume, hydraulics, balancing and commissioning all influence performance.
The same system-thinking used in boiler diagnostics is applied to heat pumps and low-temperature heating.
WHY LAMBERT HEATING & RENEWABLES
Lambert Heating & Renewables is Gas Safe registered and a Which? Trusted Trader.
Terry is also a member of the Guild of Master Heat Engineers, Heat Geek Elite, Worcester Bosch manufacturer trained, Vaillant Advance and Viessmann Accredited.
The important point is not the number of badges.
The value is what sits behind them: 35 years of heating experience, manufacturer training, cross-brand breakdown work, controls knowledge, system hydraulics, water-quality understanding and practical fault finding.
The objective is straightforward:
understand the system, prepare properly, test before assuming, repair on the first visit wherever reasonably possible, explain what has been found and stand behind the work carried out.
Lambert Heating & Renewables is based in Carshalton and serves Carshalton, Wallington, Sutton, Cheam, Banstead, Purley, Croydon and surrounding areas.
