Whether you are facing a particular difficulty or simply have a sense that something in your life or relationships is not quite right, counselling can offer time and space to understand what is happening and explore what you would like to change.

I am Chris Sergeant, a BACP-accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor working with adult individuals and couples. I have been in counselling practice since 2010 and have more than 6,500 hours of counselling experience.

My approach is integrative rather than based on one fixed model. I draw on person-centred principles to build a strong therapeutic relationship, while also working actively and, where helpful, more challengingly. We may explore present difficulties, past experiences, recurring patterns, relationships, thoughts and feelings, depending on what brings you and what feels useful.

I work with individuals experiencing difficulties including anxiety, stress, anger, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and significant life changes.

I also work with couples experiencing recurring conflict, communication difficulties, infidelity or loss of trust, emotional distance, differences in needs or values, and situations where the relationship has begun to feel stuck. The aim is not to take sides, but to understand what is happening between you, recognise recurring patterns and consider what may need to change.

Face-to-face sessions are available at Peverell Clinic in Plymouth, and I also offer online counselling across the UK via Zoom or WhatsApp.

Individual sessions are £45 and couples sessions are £60. Limited concessionary rates may be available where financially needed, subject to availability.
