Have you got yourself set up yet on adwords? Have you used it before?

Yes, No. Looked at it but never proceeded any further. Cheers for advice Steve will look into.

tomsk , I've been enjoying web design and SEO for nearly 10 years as a hobby and thought I'd see if I can get some extra business.

Cheers
Ok - so I've been "given"

Business listing always (or at least a lot of the time!) show up at the top - if a place name is put into search term in Google. I put Lina Home Hair Salon in Milton Keynes into it and you come up at the top of both UK and Global.

I know most people will not search for those words but it's good to know at least that you have that done.

You are right that it does not show up if you just put your domain name in.

Hope that makes sense!

I'd suspect that it will do in time. They do updates at different times and as it's a relatively new domain name will take a while to register.

The good thing is that it does show up under global and UK at the top for me, via the Google Business Listing you've done
twitter good for SEO? 1st March 2010 12:27 PM
To the original question, IMHO - the answer is yes.

I'm surprised people haven't seen Twitter accounts appear when they've done searches in Google. I've seen it a few times now. I don't see the tweets, it tends to be just the "Bio" in the details.

They tend to be where people are not using their real names for twitter accounts, and so, it's a bit like domain names, if your username in Twitter is henleyweb (yes made it up) rather than Fred Bloggs, it will appear higher in Google when, for example, people search for Henley Web Design.

Not sure if more Twitter details will be in searches moving forward. I guess we'll have to see....

...oh and hello, haven't introduced myself yet!
