Could it be a glitch in the stats? Do you have access to another set of ststas such as analytics, etc? Double check them somewhere else.

You, me and a few others would use it genuinely, unfortunately a lot more would abuse the system.

But then there is no incentive for them to join the forum as they are getting their business plugged for free without having to register and contribute, which IMO is what a forum is all about.

I would think that goes against fairness to other forum members too. They shouldn't get the benefit of the forum if they aren't even a member and can't post it themselves.

But I wouldn't complain if it was allowed because then I would also be able to plug my customers offers on their behalf, and they'd be really pleased about that. In fact, a lot of the members would start adding their customers offers and then it wuold be snided with all and sundry and lose it's value.

I presumed from what the OP said, that she had the meta description tag filled in and was still getting Google pulling up other page data, which can occasionally happen. But if the tag isnt even filled in then it cant possibly show what you want it to display.

I mean refresh as in, re-write the description, then manually submit to Google, etc, or just wait for them to crawl your pages. But that's not know applicable, it just needs adding in to the tag.

They reckon to display your meta tag if its present instead of pulling other data off the page randomly, but this isn't 100% accurate in their system to do so every time. I dont believe there is much you can do about this. But you could try refreshing the content of the tags and resubmtting for reindexing and see if anything changes.

well when you delete this crap every day from one forum or another they dont realise how transparent and obvious it is to mods and regulars who get used to seeing this sort of post.

Seems it's not a new website anyhow, wayback is dating it back to Feb 2008
