Presume they've amended so that they can deal with the backlog in the states...

Just a further update, I didn't get a pin by post so I e-mailed them and I was amazed to get a quick response saying that they were sorry that I did not receive the pin but had verified my listing for me. Good Stuff uh?
Yep, just went on your link Steve to check and you now can't register unless you're based in USA. Got the following message...

Bing Business Portal is only available in the United States at this time.

That's odd, I managed to register from the UK, just awaiting PIN.
Because it takes a long time for infrastructure to be built and the benefit to the creator of infrastructure has to profit from it enough to make it worth the expense. You can pick anything about your country you don't like and somewhere on earth will have it better. Although we are behind in business broadband i still want to live in UK.

Sounds a little naive to me. The 'pictures' a little bit bigger than that. The return on investment is exactly that. A company has to invest first. It is also incumbent on the government of the day to ensure the country has an infrastructure that works to the best benefit to create wealth for the country as a whole. A good Broadband service is absolutely essential for the future wellbeing of our country!
Scissor Suppliers 26th April 2011 4:21 PM
Hi everyone, I am doing some research into scissor suppliers and I was wondering which would be considered the top 10 suppliers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't want to 'cut you up' but this seems a bit specialised and unlikely to receive a great deal of feedback. I could be wrong though.
The Forum SEO Challenge... 26th April 2011 9:07 AM
Hi Garlex,

What are the keywords you're hoping to get front page for? Have you had much luck? I see you have nearly 8000 backlinks a pagerank of 6. I'd imagine you're doing quite well?

Thanks,

Matt.

Hi Matt

I've been working heavily on back links over the last couple of months and yes I have a PR6 site but as we all know, it doesn't seem to count for much these days as far as Google is concerned.

As an SEO 'bod' I'm quite sure you already know how my keywords are doing. So when you say "doing quite well" what exactly are you referring to?

As a matter of interest, we are seeing a steady increase in traffic.

Cheers
The Bing Business Portal - at last!! 25th April 2011 12:54 PM
So the Bing Business Portal has been released, and is now available for UK and USA based businesses (not sure about other countries).

This replaces the older Bing Local Listing Center, which never made it to the UK.

It's free, and basically Bings version of Google Places, so it's well worth signing up.

Not the most user friendly interface, and is pretty longwinded, plus you need to verify at the end, and it wouldn't recognise our telephone number! So I've opted for a snail mail verification.

You need a A Microsoft Live ID, so will be prompted to create one, and probarbly a good thing to create one just for business use. Make sure you untick all the marketing options

Here's the link:
Bing Business Portal (BETA)

Thanks for this Steve, I've just completed and requested the pin code by snail mail.
I have to say, I found it ok to complete in fact.

Cheers

Yes
We're in a similar place. We think we will need potentially 3 peeps for a new project, and having been trialling temps to see if its viable.

Work is pretty basic, so no formal qualifications needed, but using lower skilled youngsters leads to its own management probs, attitude, work ethic...

We also found the core hours of productivity tend to be between 10.00 and 15.00, so now thinking along the lines of back to work mums, and the hours make it childcare friendly, or older people, where you get common sense and wisdom thrown in!

But I would take on youngsters if there was a scheme in place.

I'm looking into this a bit deeper, I've got an appointment arranged through our local Chamber of Commerce. If I find anything interesting I'll post back.

he has been terminated, little spamming scum bag

Well done Steve, that pisses me off when they can't even be bothered to contribute.

CHEERS
superb idea! Putting some in a structured workplace environment may actually be the kick start they need. A grant to offset the obvious man management burden for the small biz owner, and everyones a winner.

As long as they don't start reproducing and you end up with maternity and paternity red tape

Mmm thats true, actually I only mentioned it because it would work for my business right now, we have an opening but only half way there if you know what I mean. With a scheme in place I could jump in and employ someone.
