PostsTragic Accident or foolish marketing or bad parenting? 11th March 2010 7:24 PM Speechless! Me Bonsai 11th March 2010 8:56 AM “Pic 3 the one in the shade in the corener. what a stunning (not a green fingered person) tree plant type thing. very nice I like them all.” That one Stavros is a 160 year old Japanese White Pine. Pinus Parviflora pentaphillia. A grafted white pine to a Pinus thunbergii (Japanese black pine). Came to UK in early 20th Century and became mine after much haggling some 25 years ago. Just going through a 5 year needle reduction plan. Weighs in at two hundret weight, and takes two to lift with difficulty. As you've gone out of your way to become chartered, maybe sing about it on your site? It does say it on your home page, but you need to scroll down. maybe you could have a IOSH logo at the top, bigging yourself up? Maybe a "Is your H&S man chartered?" Could use it as a selling point! Just an idea, I'm full of 'em, I'll shut up now ![]() Twood be good if I could use their logo. Not permitted unless i am a provider of IOSH training courses (fee payable of course). Maybe in time but not right now. Training is a big pay-day for many practitioners, but for now i am enjoying consultancy work. Mike Another hobby in minature 10th March 2010 11:58 AM Well to be fair Steve, this the 'let your hair down area' ![]() To be fair, in O guage the smoke can be linked to piston movement, thus really emulating the original. Sadly in OO guage there just is not enough room. I have to dremel away on occasions to get everything in. Mike Regulated Health & Safety Industry 10th March 2010 11:54 AM I suppose it can be a bit confusing Steve. No more perhaps than say Building Regulations and needing a Chartered member of RICS to do your representing for you. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is a non-departmental public body which has statutory responsibility in Great Britain for securing the health and safety of workers and protecting the general public from work-related risks. HSE Another hobby in minature 9th March 2010 8:00 PM And another. YouTube - Hornby Merlin with DCC sound and smoke This one is on a test track just seeing what further changes I need to make. I use ESU chips and a Lokprogrammer, link it all in to my netbook and voila. All sound are recorded from full size versions, hence realistic sound. Now what else do I have that is small? DON'T go there you smutty lot. Mike Another hobby in minature 9th March 2010 7:51 PM Been up to this malarkey for many years. You MUST have sound on to appreciate. Prob not one for the ladies...(which means you gals will just have to take a peep now:-) YouTube - Bachmann Ben Cruachan Mike Regulated Health & Safety Industry 9th March 2010 7:00 PM Now I have actually had quite a few emails via my website on this blog entry which I included here on MLF. To set the record straight. The world of workplace safety or occupational safety, is indeed regulated by the HSE, this much just about everyone knows. As a Chartered Practitioner I am also regulated by my professional institution...IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety & Health). This means like many other Chartered bodies I follow a strict code of conduct. Now then; setting this aside for a moment. What I was trying to get at, and perhaps I may have mislead (unintentionally) is that anyone, I mean anyone can set themselves up as a 'competent' H&S adviser. I believe the same is true of HR (no doubt our newest member in this field will confirm). So, if Joe Bloggs who once did some 'elf-n-safety' at work gets made redundant and decides to charge him/herself out at I thought I would run myth number one past you. 9th March 2010 6:47 PM Myths and misconceptions about online safety are roadblocks parents and educators must overcome so as to fully understand the risks facing children on the Internet. It is easy to assume that a child knows better than to talk to a Yes I am a loser :) 9th March 2010 6:33 PM No-way, trust me, you DO NOT want a bad woman ![]() Mike |
