Loads of Wonga 7th May 2012 4:14 PM
Seems like Wonga is going to start lending to small businesses, with interest rates being charged at between 0.3 and 2 percent a week.... Personally I'd rather have my gall stones removed again

I would send them an email, telling them that you will be charging interest to the outstanding invoice and will continue to do so, until it is has been paid in full. If you start giving them grief publicly on the internet, it may well make them even more reluctant to pay and drag it out even longer. Also a letter from Northamton county court may well trigger them into paying. I don't mind offering people credit
Chinese Weetabix 4th May 2012 9:42 AM
Well as long as they keep the production of weetabix in the UK I guess nothing will change, but if production moves to China because of labour costs it will have a dreadful effect, as that will probably end up costing another 5000 UK Jobs.
Can you believe it? 3rd May 2012 12:42 AM
Received a couple of letters today, one from the court saying the case had been dropped and another from the local authority with a
Have some adverts had their day? 3rd May 2012 12:01 AM
I have a general dislike for all banner type advertising I just find it annoying. Although I understand why sites such as this have it, but when I come on here, I come on here to read the posts, not to go shopping. If I want something in particular I will go and Google it. Another thing I find annoying is when you visit a particular shopping site, say for example Screwfix or John Lewis once you have left their site you will get their product adverts all day long till you disable it. Obviously I'm in the minority on this, but I'm sure there must be others who think likewise....
And as for those flashing pop up adverts, do people actually believe they've won something for nothing?
Bank Lending and Media Hype 1st May 2012 11:49 PM
Quite a vote of confidence in your business and you, Barney

Well in fairness to the woman from the bank, she seemed to be well clued up about the current situation within the construction industry, she even knew that modern day plumbing apprentices will over the course of their apprenticeship will be employed by at least 4-6 different companies. To be honest I think I'd be quite frightened and mad to take out a bank loan for vehicle finance whilst dealerships are offering 0% over 4 years against the banks 10% plus the arrangement fee....
Bank Lending and Media Hype 1st May 2012 8:14 PM
Had my bank (Bank of Scotland) telephone me today, asking me if I'd like to increase my overdraft facility and what are my plans for the future etc. Told them I was considering purchasing a couple of new vans as the current ones are 6 years old, told her I was looking at various deals with dealerships and seeing who was offering the best deal but was in no rush to make a decission. She then blurted out "we can lend you

My dad was a scout master, he was always getting into trouble with the district chief because he went against 'the rules'. However the chief lived at the end of our road so nothing really come of it apart from a few heated arguements. The scouts my dad use to look after are now in their 40s and still go and visit him...
Stayed at Sandown IoW as a kid in the 70s. It pelted down every day with around 2ft of water outside the caravan, as kids we had great fun, not much fun for the adults who were hoping to sit on the beach for 2 weeks..... The funny thing is though in a few years time you'll look back on that holiday with fond memories, even though it was probably awful
