As usual so much hype about the £1 per litre, can someone tell me where. in london i have not seen it go below £1.04 ”

The only place I spotted it was on Monday morning at our local Morrisons, petrol was 99.9.

Planning 15th December 2015 4:16 PM

lol town planning and roadwork planning, two things I will never understand

Our office is in a business centre on a busy crossroads. I reckon you can safely say at least 4 times a year we have temp traffic lights up and complete chaos while BT redigs up the road National Grid have just surfaced after they dug up the road resurfaced by the Waterboard who dug it up after the previous visit from BT trying to lay new cables...

The tarmac on that cross roads never gets a chance to wear out, although does look like a patch work quilt

New Scottish Border Crossing Rules 15th December 2015 4:00 PM

Bit of humour from our web developer on a gloomy grey Monday

Did you get them all?

I wasn't sure if the BBC was doing some kind of spoof, but it appears this is genuine

Apparently the South Koreans work ethic has got so competitive over the years, it has led to one of the highest suicide rates in the world. So the best way to fix it? Get the HR department to wheel in a few coffins and get your employees to lie in them, shut the lids for 10 minutes and contemplate the universe.

Then follow it up with some forced laughing, and you have a rejuvenated work force!

I can't see this filtering down to the small business community in the near future, but if you have a suicidal workforce, may be something to contemplate?

In case you think I'm making it up...

BBC News: The employees shut inside coffins

"In a large room in a nondescript modern office block in Seoul, staff from a recruitment company are staging their own funerals. Dressed in white robes, they sit at desks and write final letters to their loved ones. Tearful sniffling becomes open weeping, barely stifled by the copious use of tissues.

And then, the climax: they rise and stand over the wooden coffins laid out beside them. They pause, get in and lie down. They each hug a picture of themselves, draped in black ribbon..."

This country isn't that bad after all

£3200 for a years electric! I find it really frustrating that you've taken the time and trouble to go to the ombudsman, who found in your favour but only offered what sounds like an unrealistic amount. Makes a mockery of the process.

The fact you've tried mediation and they've refused and now you have the hassle of taking them to court over their mistake, beggars belief. Maybe worth getting touch with Watchdog and also make some noise on moneysavingexpert.com. Try tweeting Martin Lewis, never know, may get a response! Nothing like a bit of publicity to get a change of heart

Will always need oil though without it the wheels won't turn, planes won't be able to fly or ships sail...”

Yup, but a lot less of it, plus synthetic oils will help the ball bearings go round. Supposedly in 5 years we will be sat in self driving cars. As a non engineer and physics failure, that must be a lot more complicated than harnessing battery power.

At least in the last few years electric cars have actually started looking like normal cars rather than a bicycle wheeled left over Dr Who prop with huge solar panels.

Maybe after the VW scandal, there is more of a political will to push research? You'd think for the car company that cracks a viable affordable family with a genuinely decent range, it would be the jackpot in sales

I hate the Cloud, I hate the Cloud... 11th December 2015 2:12 PM
Why would any one want to store it in the clouds.  Surely a bit of marketing spin could get us to store it in the sunshine     #marginallyofftopic”

Well data was stored in the clouds of doom, but now our happy little NAS is a ray of sunshine.

Look at it, 4TB, mirrored, hotswap drives, dual network cards, tiny and most importantly it's quiet! Can also be used as a media server, web, email or ftp server.

Versus our noisy old old 500GB Windows file server, 2x domain controllers and exchange server.

Big smiles all round  #gettingobsessed

Well according to the Telegraph UK shoppers spent £623 million on Small Business Saturday, up 24% on the year before.

Not quite sure how they work that out  but sounds like a good result.
