That is the dudlian coming out in me.

Next time om in Tata bally land I will endeavour to converse with the YamYams wo i.

so you Sev1
If you have a low bid on your specifc keywords it does mean your ad will always be displayed.

magnifyB is the in house SEM guru she may have a better way of doing this

but for keyword density I always draft the page in word, use the word count on your keywords, you want to hit about 7%.

once i am happy with it I uploaded it and I use seobrowser to view the page and repeat the word count.

but as before be aware if the keywords you are targeting are outside of your budget the on site optimisation will not necessarly help you with the ad placement or add rotation.

The #1 keyword for mybusiness converts around 55-60p way out of my league. so I target long tail keywords that yield less of local monthly search volume but I get cheaper overall conversion costs.
The argument that only people with employees is complete tosh.

"Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity"

let me think what I would prefer a room full of people who can massage my ego or a pocket full of cash.

I recently had a web dev company turn down a project of mine as they only deal with companies that have a minimum of 50 staff. as that is the number of employees they deemed you need to call your self successfull.

lets break that logic down.
a car dealership for example
50 staff
5 mil turnover
if we take an average across the board of 50k per staff member that will include salary, tax and pension = 2.5mil
another 500k in overheads
then you need capital re-investment another 500k
we are at a total of 1.5 dont forget the tax man wants hit cut as well.
so know we are down to 1.08 mil

wow that seems like a lot of work.

alternatively
you have got a 1 man band with half a dozen successful web sites and a freelance IT practice.

each site turns over 150k
plus another 130k from the IT pracitce.
1.03 mil
minus tax = 802k

which one would I prefer? now taking into account I do have a huge ego???

the 1 man band each and ever time without fail.
Comedy Copywriters... 30th July 2010 3:12 PM
That looks like something I'd write thank the big G for copy writers that can make sense of my innate drivel.
That stick and peel is awesome thanks very much. added to my SEO KB.

The site functionality I tend to agree less with.
I have seen some pretty bad text based 1990's style sites, hard to naviagte, lots of pop ups and flash gif's and the traffic numbers are through the roof.

Now this does baffle me as i get bored v easy, if I cannot navigate a site easily I click off.

I am sort of playing devils advocate here as I actually emplyed a UIUX bod to design my sign up and navigation.

I have adpoted a new outlook to my blog I was always mega paranoid that it needed to be super super friendly like a conversation with a friend, now I use it more as a information servicing platform if I think of something useful i write it up and put it on my blog.

sometimes it is more personal, other times it could be just a document I have written and I want to share.

I dont beat myself over it anymore and I am finding it easier to update adhoc as opposed to having an outlook reminder that I used to dread.

Think about all the things we talk baout on here, we conversate very free and easy so why not blog about the subject you are discussing on the forum.
I have been eating breathing and ****** Ad words for the last 2 months does it show.

I have had several discussion with Steve over this and I strongly believe that poor SEOSEM can make of break an online business hence all the super swatting.
Thanks for the tip magnifyB I have been trying to figure out a good way of tracking the display network results.
simple and effective.
The Cold Calling Poll 30th July 2010 12:56 PM
I get crappy calls like that all the time.

The number 1 crap call I get is do you realise that because your servers are not hosted in the UK, Google hates you, your family, your cat, your dog and your guinea pig and you will have sacrfice your first born to the google gods to get registered in the serps.

Of course you could let us let us take over you entire operation and charge you 6 million squids for the privellage and we will spare your first born.

man I am glad it is Friday I have got the serious A******** can you tell.
Here is another one that caught me out.
Always create your ads in an adgroup called drafts, then when you are happy with the text, copy them into your live group and activate them.

there are 2 reason why I do this.
1: if you are not happy with the performance of the ad pause it, go back to your drafts amend the text and copy back into your live group and activate it, That way you can do a side by side analysis of there performance stats.
2:This one really messed up my stats last month if you make a change to a live advert it zeroes the performance stats and you lose everything. I could have kicked myself
