PostsGold and Green, My Local, get the lawyers on them Steve ;-) 10th September 2015 6:41 AM Migration at what price? 7th September 2015 4:29 PM Fair enough if I was misinformed I guess someone hyped it up. However I think the issue it's that Hungary are refusing to let them claim asylum there or not making it easy anyway. Whatever is going on I'm planning on donating clothes and other items to Lesvos in Greece where a lot of the refugees are ending up. They're struggling there. I have a eyewitness account of it there. I'm definitely seeing some rather unsavoury comments about asylum seekers on social media and it's a shame people aren't more caring, rather than being so quick to protect the borders. One for the cat lovers.... 6th September 2015 9:26 PM
Marketing gimmicks work - thank you Nimbus 4th September 2015 6:06 PM Do cake, that would win me over in a second! Maybe team up with a local cake seller and it can promote them too. X
“This is a good point Steve, we currently give a bouquet of flowers to every first time clean and find that not only does it increase our regular clean uptake, it also get's people talking about us on social media.
This Nimbus Hosting chocolate bar has given me an idea to do something a bit different though... I'm thinking we might start sending a couple of posh tea bags and some biscuits to first time customers with a sort of "have a drink on us" theme, maybe playing on the whole relax and put your feet up in your freshly cleaned home angle? I think things like this are what make you stand out from the crowd and give you a bit more of a funky brand identity that people can relate to.”
Migration at what price? 4th September 2015 6:03 PM I think it's desperately sad that people are so intent on escaping their own country they will risk not just their own, but their children's lives. It's terrifying really. We are so privileged here and it's not their fault they were born in a different country. I think people who comment about keeping them out must be pretty hardhearted. There's lots of local campaigns to collect clothes etc and I am going to try and help in some way. There's no easy solution of course, but hearing about some people in Hungary being tricked into boarding a train for Germany that actually took then to a refugee camp made for very uncomfortable/sinister reading.
Is offering a free product a good way to generate more business? 4th September 2015 5:44 PM That's lovely, I'd be really impressed with free flowers!
“We've given out a couple of free home cleanings before, usually to local bloggers or key influencers in exchange for a review on their site.
It's worked relatively well in a couple of instances. For every first time clean we also provide a bouquet of flowers and a thank you note to enourage them to book a regular appointment although I am looking at changing this slightly moving forward as I think there are other more interesting ways of doing it.”
HSBC Banking trouble 2nd September 2015 10:03 AM Haha hence the dot dot dot. Yes they are but seemingly unaffected....unsure how the systems link up. They're excellent for customer service.
“Aren't they the Direct/online arm of HSBC though?
Are they on separate systems? Well guess they are on the basis that you are not having trouble. Ok i will get my coat ...
Importance of nursery reviews 29th August 2015 8:53 PM
“Children are the best part of our life, now the time where mothers also doing job so its required to provide best atmosphere to our children's, reviews helps to choose perfect nursery for child's.
” My local council website has all the local nurseries listed with reviews, I wouldn't trust a random site with nursery info if I'm honest. And nothing substitutes visiting them in person and reading the OfSted report.
You can't do everything online, not even good translation it seems! HSBC Banking trouble 29th August 2015 8:48 PM Oh I heard something about that. What a mess. I am with First Direct so I'm okay..... When translation goes wrong ....... 29th August 2015 8:37 PM
“Was doing my usual checks on the over night new listings and this caught my eye
"We are your (name removed) company working in congestion with (removed) Council for all your waste removal solutions. We proud to be the cheapest, most reliable." I wonder how many other sites they visited last night and created the same description? Also what damage has been done to that particular companies reputation? I LOVE bad translation, it's hilarious. My husband always orders random items from China on eBay (electrical leads etc) and the translations are brilliant! |
