Many people ask why they need risk assessments. Apart from them being a legal requirement for companies with more than five employees to have in writing, no business can afford to ignore the risks to staff and visitors to the premises.
For most it is a daunting and time consuming job but if anything happens, it will be the first piece of documentation you are asked for, so you need to make sure they accurately reflect what you do and staff are aware of them.
