Hi Tom

Totally agree - there are some great brokers out there (used to be one myself) and far to many are being absorbed by larger companies where the individual feels kind of gets lost.

Comparison sites are ok if you want a cold heartless cheapest policy, but as i always said, i may not be the cheapest, but i'm one of the best and surely worth a couple of ££s more to get a service.

Cracking quote from my old boss - your insurance is only as good as the claims service

What Tyres to buy! 21st October 2014 12:27 PM

I ALWAYS hand wash my car/s.

Apart from the sense of satisfaction that I get 'coz i did it, its cleaned to my standard and if i missed a bit i dont feel cheated, its a good bit of exercise (especially when im polishing) and you dont damage the paintwork as much as those huge rollers, that capture all the grit form the car that used the machine before you!

Buy a bucket, a clean sponge, a leather and a bottle of decent car shampoo - it takes 45 minutes to wash and dry my family saloon - 10 mins to vac it out, 10 mins to wipe over the leather seats & dash -  another 90 mins if im polishing it - thats my Sunday mornings

You arent supposed to drive winter tyres in the warmer weather, you will effectively wear them out - i have a friend that takes summer tyres off and then puts his winter ones on, personally i dont bother.

I had a tyre company come to the office when i needed some, i couldnt get a better price - if you look up Tyres on the Drive, you can then search for your tyre size

And 3 more exec's have been "asked" to step aside as the investigation deepens on the 1/4 billion over forecast on profits.

Are they going to have any top brass left at this rate?

Hamilton win - was it manufactured? 14th October 2014 10:05 AM
What do you think of this 17 year old driver? Don't really follow the racing but it seem nuts to me. Thought idea was to get years of experience and then only the best of the best get selected for formula 1? How can he have ache vied that much when he has only turned 17.

His old man might be an ex racer, and he might be great on an xbox, but formula 1

No Johno - total agreement with you, and the paddock is rife with the same concerns.

Drivers craft their skill over years of karting and coming up through the other formulas. There have been a few younger drivers languishing around in the lower order running teams but thats down to what money they bring to the team in all honesty, but they still have some driving experience.

With the accident 2 weeks ago still prominent maybe they FIA will introduce some extra safety features and one of those could be a minimum age to join the pinnacle of motor sport.

Lets not forget the driver seriously injured was just 25, but he has spent years in the other formulas, GP2, Formula Renault, Forumla 3 to name a few. He came through the ranks as a Ferrari and Force India's test driver, before landing a full seat with Marussia in 2013....chances are he will never wake up, let alone get behind the wheel again

Its certainly not passed on straight away as the suppliers always use the argument that they have to bulk purchase at different times of the year..”

How does this work then when it goes up overnight when prices increase?

They can't have it both ways - or do they

Hamilton win - was it manufactured? 13th October 2014 10:05 AM

Rosberg has never beaten Hamilton in a wheel to wheel battle and again yesterday despite Nico getting the jump on Lewis he out braked himself, flat spotting his tyres and was forced to pit on lap 1 ! An incredible recovery from Nico and he gained 2nd place back, but the pressure does seem to be mounting on him and he is struggling whereas Lewis is not only absorbing the pressure, he actually appears to be enjoying it.

3 races to go, its looking like a cracking finale is on the cards - dont forget though the last race of the year carries double points so lots still to do for Lewis

Schumacher Medical Notes Stolen 13th October 2014 9:59 AM

Sadly it would appear that despite the almost total media black out the news will never be good for him.

Now with Jules Bianchi freak accident last week another driver faces a long and almost impossible task of recovery from a horrific head injury

How much of the savings will actually be passed on though?

Its like everything - prices shoot up when something increases, but takes revere to filter back down if/when the price decreases.
