Found this story on the BBC website this morning. Its both so very sad but bemusing at the same time. Seems the family of the reportedly oldest man in Tokyo had led officials on a merry dance for 30 years after officials arrived to toast the 111yr old on his birthday only to find a mummified corpse that had been lying in his bed for approx 30 years. Fraud charges are now being filed against the family as they continued claiming pension payments in excess of £70,000. How sad and bizarre ! Clive |
