In their latest quest to make money, possibly due to yesterday's profit warning, Ryanair will charge £45 to any passenger checking in online more than 4 days before travel. This fee applies to each journey, so unless you have website access whilst you are away for more than 3 days, you will be penalised.
Their explanation is the usual smokescreen of comparing their service to BA, whose online check-in does not open until 24 hours before the outbound flight. What they forget to mention is that BA don't charge for check-in......
