The franking Label affixed by the Frinton post office fell off so they asked for an excess postage of £7 - I showed them the proof of postage from the sender but the manager refused to hand me my parcel valued £45 . They added once an excess postage has been written but never completed the sentence. Perhaps they realised how ridiculous it was to fine a recipient for the loss of their sticker fitted by their Post office employee

Apparently, without the franking, the proof of posting is void even though the address handwritten on the parcel matches - 17 days later the parcel has not been returned to the sender and not finding the parcel at the office they think it's been returned to Chelmsford!

The Frinton office manager says they have a batch of franking that was not sticking and they have had to sellotape some down

I told them what was in the parcel they could have just handed me the parcel that had my address on it realising what had happened - now the parcel has been in their system 20 days and it only had to travel 11 miles from Frinton to Harwich - It seems to me the service is not fit for purpose
