Cheylesmore Community Centre

Cheylesmore Community Centre is based in Coventry in the West Midlands and exists for the benefit of the local community.
The facility was orginally built as a War Hostel and support building during World War 2. Also used as a school and church during the 1950's. The building has been run by a group called Cheylesmore Community Association since 1948. The building has a rich heritage as a caring people focused facility. We have struggled to find any original documentation, but believe the building was constructed during the start of the war.
After undergoing a big transformation, Cheylesmore Community Centre is now a popular space for recreation, social & education. Our community is also the home of Cheylesmore Community Library and is Coventry’s first entirely community-led and volunteer-run library. Also situated in the building is our exciting new Coffee Shop C3! With all profits going towards enhancing the centre and community projects, you know that when you buy a coffee here that you are investing in your local community.
