With our roots stretching all the way back to 1947, we are proud of our rich history and have been caring for your eyes for generations. Bird & Fairley Dunmow was originally founded in 1947 in Loughton as a partnership between local entrepreneur Mr Bird and Harry Fairley.
The business was passed down to the next generation in the Fairley family, and our practice in Great Dunmow was opened in 1982. Now under new ownership, the name of Bird & Fairley proudly lives on to this day along with the legacy of providing outstanding care.
We are a proudly independent optical practice that takes extra time, care, and attention to provide the expert care you deserve.
It is our aim to provide the best eyecare and eyewear in Essex. We treat our patients and each other with honesty and kindness to create a positive atmosphere for all who spend time with us.
