The Panel provides impartial expert advice to applicants and local authorities on design issues in relation to important new development schemes and proposals for important public spaces, including both significant minor applications, major planning applications and pre-application development proposals.
As stated within the NPPF, the Design Review Panel's feedback is a material consideration for local authorities and the planning inspectorate. The Design Review Panel provides its services directly to applicants as well as to local authorities.
The South West Design Review Panel (SWDRP) is proven to raise design standards and help to speed up and de-risk the planning process . The SWDRP reviews development projects from all localities within the South West, from Swindon to Cornwall . We provide independent, multi-disciplinary, expert advice - a candid friend, supporting whenever we can, seeking explanations, discussing options, identifying opportunities.
The South West Regional Design Review Panel operates across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire (including Swindon).
