The kind of company you see on Rogue Trader or Watchdog - do not believe them, do not book with them.
On April 3rd, I paid Dream World Travel (DWT) £881 for an Emirates return ticket for Chile, before coronavirus kicked off. The flight, from Edinburgh Airport was due to leave on 4th December. However, the course was cancelled and "cancelled" the flight on 28th September, and have since been trying to get my money back from DWT, to no avail..
However, I have since discovered Emirates cancelled all flights from Edinburgh Airport on the 26th April, and DWT didn't even tell me - in fact, I have still never received a formal communication to tell me my flight had been cancelled, more than eight months ago. It transpires that Emirates didn't even take the money, so it has been sitting with DWT for eight months.
Dealing with them is a nightmare - they just send out boilerplate emails and they do not answer their phone, they have made zero indication that they are planning to refund my money.
I have now applied for my money back via the small claims court.
The single most depressing consumer experience I have ever had.
