Are you someone who thinks that it's weak to ask for help, but know you need some?

Many of my clients have had those same thoughts and it isn't until perhaps 3 or 4 things - big life events - have happened to them that they seek help because they are off work with anxiety or low mood. Or just feeling they aren't coping as they think they should be.
What do I mean by big life event?
They can be many things including:
- being bullied
- work stress and pressure
- moving away from home to uni or a new job
- chronic or life-limiting illness
- grief and bereavement.
Most people cope naturally with one or two of those issues. They may feel a bit more pressure than normal but manage. However, if three or four of those things happen, perhaps, over 2 or 3 years rather than over a lifetime, the problem of feeling severely under pressure, stressed, and anxious can begin.
And because they may have those first thoughts they won't ask for help until they really are unable to cope.
I work with many people who have such life experiences and when they realise what they have coped with over a relatively short period of time they can be less hard on themselves.
I also help people with other issues such as:
- fear of speaking in public
- phobias, like fear of flying or fear of spiders
- exam nerves
- relationship issues
How can I help
Using the various therapies I have in my 'tool box' such as

- Brain Working Recursive Therapy
I am usually able to help clients change how they think about themselves and how they are coping with those past events.
Often people worry about what might happen in the future. And again that is something that we can work through. Helping you learn to cope with uncomfortable feelings and thoughts. Just to know that you are responding just like a normal human being who has been through a lot, can be a relief.
Sometimes what is impacting on your life now might be something from your past which set up a pattern of response and expectation about how life should or shouldn't be. Some of my clients have been abused as children or raped. They may have been coping well and suddenly something might happen or they may see someone and it reminds them of that past event. There are ways of working that can help change those responses.
I am working Online only via WhatsApp, Zoom or Phone. All sessions are 50 -60 minutes and are £65. Working online is as effective as face-to-face, in a consulting room.
